Hi Mallory. Hi, Jackie. What do you got a heart out at 1030 for? I have my playoff match. I'm in the playoffs, bitch. For tennis? Yeah. Oh, nice. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00Why were you ashamed? Well, because, you know, it is the middle of a workday. But okay.
unknownUnderstood. Understood.
SPEAKER_01I thought you were going to tell me you're getting some procedure done. Oh, no, I wish. Lord knows.
SPEAKER_00Not until I get this damn house done. No. It's going to be years before I can afford a procedure, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God. But the bathroom looks great. Mal's been sending me pictures. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, the pair has a nicer, nicer bathroom than us, so that's great. You know, sharing with the kids, putting my hair dryer on the toilet, you know. But she's got double sinks. So, you know, good. Keeping you humble. Good. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. How you been?
SPEAKER_01Ben, been good. Ben good. I still am congested. It's been about three weeks. So yes, last night. But this is like, this should have broke. I've been at a level of like, this needs to come down. So last night I was crazed in our medicine cabinet, going through everything, all the medicine I brought from the States, looking at the like decongestants you brought over. They're like a different one from the one that I the the like real methy one that I took.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01But I only I could only find scratch like going through every bag trying to find loose pills. I found two. Two of the good methy ones. And I was like, okay, I need to like disperse these. And then I'm like, let me just look and see if they sell this in Poland. Because I'm thinking there's no way if I if we can bear, if we have to do a background check to get this medicine in the United States, I'm like, they're not gonna sell it here. They don't even sell like bonine, which is like motion sickness pill here. Like they were just like, we don't make that medicine. I was like, okay, great.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I look and it sells they says they sell it. So I walk my ass to the pharmacy today, and I'm like, Jamoke Pro Sich, this. Do you have this on my phone showing them? And he was like, Oh yeah. And just grab throws me a box. No scanning. Amazing. No anything. I can get as many as I want. I can have your cooking. So much fucking meth. So much meth. Oh my God, amazing. Amazing. A whole new world is okay. So like last night I was like reading. I'm like, Mike, this one has phenonaliferin and this one's a pseudophedrine. And he was like, well, okay, breaking bad. What are we talking about? What are we talking about here? Let's calm it down.
SPEAKER_00Let's calm it down. I mean, he's uh yeah, I would say he's definitely the Jesse to your Walter White. I'm definitely the crazy one. Well, then that would make him Jesse. That would make him Walter White in you. I think he's more the I'm probably more the Jesse. More the Jesse. He's the brains of the operation. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'm the one flying off the animal. So my God. Amazing. But yeah. So I took that. Oh, and I found a Z-pack. Expired. Oh, nice. But an unopened Z pack. And I was like, I'm gonna pop that in. Take that. So um, I got a cocktail going on.
SPEAKER_00Let me tell you. Be careful of those cocktails. I don't know what to tell you a tale. So you know, we have opposing problems, right? I get super backed up, especially on a trip, right? Didn't go the whole time we were in Italy. And then I got back, didn't go. Didn't go, didn't go, didn't go. We're talking two weeks, three weeks, you know. I finally I I feel like it's sitting at the top of my chest. It's three weeks rise into my throat. Yeah. You didn't think three weeks? There was some some here and there, but there wasn't a good, you know, evacuation. I wouldn't call it a full evacuation.
unknownUnderstood.
SPEAKER_00You know. Yeah, yeah. Wow. That's so I've never felt that. I decided I'm going nuclear, you know. I'm gonna throw everything I got at it. I I buy the drink, the magnesium citrate, I buy that, I get mirroracs, I get prune pouches, and I get X LAX. Okay. Did you cancel your plans for the next 40 days? And I was dying. I I mean, I was like, Well, yeah, it was horror. I would I did too much because the the re well the problem is is the previous week I had bought the magnesium citrate drink and it didn't work. And you know, according to our friend Katie, friend of the pod, KDP, you have to be really hydrated for it to work. I was like, great. Why is that hydrated enough? So so I threw a I threw everything at it. I said, I'm going full bore. And my friend that's a nurse, practitioner, and my friend that's a pharmacist were like, you know, after the fact, they're like, Yeah, you shouldn't have done that. I'm like, yeah, no shit. How do I stop it? And they're like, well, just let it run its course. I'm like, well, it's been 48 hours, so I'm gonna I'm gonna try to, you know, take some emotions and stop this train from running.
SPEAKER_01Now take more medicine to back it back up. Exactly. That's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So build the day of it. So happens because we have rented a party bus for my birthday to go to wineries, and like I wanted to have fun, you know. I'm like, I don't want to be all constipated, miserable. No, uh I want to feel skinny and light, you know, free as a bird. So I did this all Thursday night, and by Sunday, I was good, right? I was good. Wake up Sunday morning, and my husband's like, I don't feel good. I was like, oh Jesus, what's wrong with you? And the previous day, our son had thrown up, but he just like he threw up and that was it. He was fine. He continued on to the train festival. It's a kid throw up. It's like, yeah, nothing even happened. Right, exactly. They drove for an hour, you know, in the car. It's like, of course he threw up. Right. So then Brandon goes into the yard to yak, because I was like, you can't go in the. We have we all are sharing a toilet. Like, you can't go in the toilet. I was like, I where did he throw up in the yard? I made him throw up like above, yeah, the backyard behind, like, you know, out of the way of all the, you know, so the kids wouldn't get over there. But I was just like, you can't. I said, unless you want to. Did he stand in puke? Did he go on his? I didn't watch. I didn't, I don't, I, you know, that's not my business. I just said, we're all sharing a toilet. I don't think you're gonna want to like deep clean it after you're done. So like go outside.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I have a question for you. Follow-up. Is Brandon a loud puker? Does Brandon scream puke?
SPEAKER_00No, no, he does not.
SPEAKER_01Michael scream pukes the loudest is not surprised by that. Yeah. So we were we were driving, not to derail, but we were had we had to drive to Warsaw to go to this appointment for him, anyways. Our husbands they fell apart. They're coming back together. It's fine. Yeah, and in the car, he so we had to go to the ER the night before because he was in so much pain in his neck, and they may have overdosed him on morphine, allegedly. So he was then coming off morphine, and so that led to puking. So we're driving, I'm driving like four hours, it's five in the morning to Warsaw. And all of a sudden, he's got this puke bag that the hospital gave him in his hands, and he's just and I'm like trying to rub his back, and he's like, hands on the wheel, 10 to 2 o'clock, keep your eyes on the road, and I'm like, how are you yelling at me? How are you telling me how to drive?
SPEAKER_00Focus on your own journey, sir.
SPEAKER_01Focus on you. I can drive and rub your back on one. Yeah, this is not the moment in Bali.
SPEAKER_00As a Balinese shaman once told me during a meditation ceremony, focus on your own journey, okay?
SPEAKER_01Focus on your own journey, sir. I am fine. Right. Just so loud. And Eva slept through the whole thing. No clue. Thank God. She probably would have been freaked out. Oh, she would have been crying. Then it would have been an emergency. Yeah. But he's the loudest puker. I didn't know if this was a guy thing or this is just a him.
SPEAKER_00No, it's a him thing.
SPEAKER_01It's a him thing, okay.
SPEAKER_00Man gotta cry while he pukes. Yeah, the loudest. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Okay, back to your story.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So he wakes up, he pukes in the yard, and then he's like, you know what? I I can't go on a party bus to wineries all day. It's a hard one. It's fair. It's fair, you know. So I go on the party bus, and I kind of am like not really telling everybody that Leo had puked the day before because I'm like, I don't want everyone to think I'm about to infect them, which I was. The bus is paid for. The bus is paid for. My birthday, damn it. Exactly. It's my fucking birthday. It's your fucking birthday. Yeah. So then, of course, Eliza's standing outside and everyone's asking how her data is, and she's like, Oh, Leo puked yesterday. I'm like, no, there I'm outed. But luckily, everybody had kids and they're like, whatever. We're not, we've already no big deal. As long as no adults are puking, we're fine. We're getting on this bus now. And we're gonna go drink. So we did. We go have a grand old time, get home. Brandon's still laid up. I walk in and Leo just pukes again. And I'm like, good, really good stuff. So I get him all cleaned up and party's over, parties, and I'm not sober, you know. Not sober. Yeah. So party's over, get him all cleaned up, put to bed, then get Eliza in her bed. I sleep with Leo because I don't want to sleep with infected Brandon, you know.
SPEAKER_01Um he wakes up in the middle of the floor. Or Brandon like a sick dog put out in the backyard to puke. No one will go near him.
SPEAKER_00Look, if I'm gonna sleep with if I'm gonna sleep and take care of somebody who's puking, it's gonna be the three-year-old, all right? Not the 43-year-old. Hashtag justice for Brandon. So I do left my husband, and I was very worried about him, and it was very nice of him to pay for the party bus that he didn't go on. Get in the backyard. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Give me your credit card, get the fuck out of here. Get the fuck out of here. Yeah. So Leo wakes up in the middle of the night to puke, and then I hear Eliza in our bed, because she comes into our bed every night and she's puking. In the bed. In the bed, because she's Leo can make it to the toilet. Eliza cannot. She's like, she's like a sleepwalker, she doesn't know what's going on. Oh no. So she had come into our room in the night and like she always does, and I'm sure Brandon thought nothing of it, but then she starts throwing up in the bed. So I thought, hmm, after I get Leo done puking in the toilet and back to his room, I'm gonna just check her room. Because if she went into our room, and it had been marinating in there for a while. Yeah, it was cooked. It as the kids say, it cooked, okay? It cooked, and then it cooked. It cooked bam. So I get our sheets. Like I'm like half out of it, obviously, because I should have the volume, I should have just taken those old ass target sheets and thrown them straight in the garbage. Instead, I put them into the wash. No, like some kind of idiot. But that whole situation and the smell of it, I was like, oh god, here I go. So now I'm I'm off. You're cooked. So we're all just I'm cooked, fam. We're all taking turns with the toilet, the one upstairs toilet that we have, because we still at this point our au pair is still downstairs in the downstairs bathroom, right? So we all are sharing one bathroom upstairs. So it's just everybody elbowing each other out of the way to puke in the toilet.
SPEAKER_01Was there any dual sink toilet puking in tandem? There was no doubles.
SPEAKER_00No doubles. Okay. Yeah, so you know, sobered up real quick. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. And then Eliza has not wanted to go to school. It's school's almost over. It's ridiculous that it lasts this long. Why does it go past Memorial Day? It starts two weeks before Labor Day and goes two weeks after Memorial Day. It's ridiculous. So she stays home Monday, obviously. Then Tuesday, we're like, fuck it, stay home again. Sure as shit. Tuesday night, pukes in our bed. Because you know what? We eased her back into food with apparently while I was gone at work, with McDonald's for lunch and Orville Reddenbacher extra butter popcorn for dinner.
SPEAKER_01Exactly what the doctors recommend for your first meal back from neurovirus.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Pretty much. So luckily I was in my right mind and then just threw those sheets away. Because once you've seen buttered popcorn the second time, you don't want those sheets anymore. You can never erase that memory. So that you have to stay home again. The sequel, Too Fast Too Furious. Too fast, too furious, too much butter. Too much butter. So yeah, that was, you know, happy fucking birthday.
SPEAKER_01This is your year, honey. It's my year.
SPEAKER_00I'm fire horsing the shit out of this vomit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna mean something.
SPEAKER_00It's kinda uh we just gotta be. Yes, we're purging the old, yes, purging the old.
SPEAKER_01From your butthole.
SPEAKER_00From all the holes. From butthole. From all the holes. Yeah. So all of this to say, I've never been skinnier.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say, you must be so skinty right now.
SPEAKER_00I must so skinty. Well, then the other, now I I'm I'm on the mend, I'm good, I'm getting better. I see an Ulta, these let me sleep gummies, L-E-M-M-E. Okay? Let me sleep. Courtney Kardashian. And I'm like, yeah, I love to sleep. I did not know it was Courtney Kardashian or I would not have bought it on principle. But I was like, I'd seen influencers hawking them. I'm like, yeah, let me sleep. I want to sleep. Let me sleep. Let me sleep. Let me sleep. So I take one the first night. It doesn't really work. And I'm like, I don't feel like I feel kind of bloated and stuff the next day. So the next night I'm like, I'm gonna try two. That's what they say to take. Take two. So I take two. And then I'm like blacked out, but waking up to have a violent, you know, another violent bathroom episode. And I'm like, what is happening to me? Like I can, I'm barely conscious because of the levy sleeps, but like conscious enough, you know. And I check the ingredients and they have magnesium citrate in it. Like, why? Why is that an ingredient in my swing fade?
SPEAKER_01Courtney Kardashian's stupid, and magnesium helps you sleep, but magnesium citrate will make you shit. Magnesium glycophate.
SPEAKER_00It's like it relaxes your muscles. Well, there's one muscle that was a little too relaxed, all right? For my liking. That muscle needs to get a little tighter. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Magnesium glycipate is the one you want to take for sleep that does not make you shit yourself. Again, breathing bad here. That's why. And really, no one on her team was like, maybe we should flip those so our customers don't know.
SPEAKER_00Maybe they all want to, you know. That's a furnace thing. Get skinny. It would be skinny. Yeah. Wow. So I've been through it. My insights may never recover from the past two weeks. They really may not. You know, I need to take it sleazy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I've enjoyed it because Mallory's been up at all hours of the night. So I have been.
SPEAKER_00I've been texting you at 2 a.m. I'm like, oh yeah, what's up, girl?
SPEAKER_01I've been getting texts at 10 a.m. my time. I'm like, oh hey, look who's up. And she's like, I'm shit. My brains out on the fucking toilet. I'm like, oh, nice to see you.
SPEAKER_00That's exactly what I said.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_00I was ladylike about it.
SPEAKER_01I took these fucking gummies and now I'm on the toilet. Now I'm dying. Now I'm dying. I was like, okay, what's I go? What's going on? What's up? Let's talk. Wow. Well, what we do really need to talk about is Mallory is going to bring me to the red table when I reveal something to her. So my God. Yes. Me and me and Eva. I can't wait for this. We're heading back to America for a little summer vacation. See everybody, hitting all the spots. And so we're planning a get-speaking. One last chance to witness democracy before he dies. Mm-hmm. You know, grab some bagels and stuff on the way out. Yeah. Get my get my fix. Yeah. Give my fix. And find farewell to democracy. Yep. My farewell tour of democracy. And so we're planning a little New York City get together. Mal, friend of the show, Catherine, our daughters, we're we're doing it. We're doing it. And apparently we're doing it on the most expensive weekend.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We are doing it and doing it and doing it well.
SPEAKER_01Doing it well. And unfortunately, this is the only weekend we can't do it. So we gotta eat, we had to eat it. So we're looking at hotels, and the hotels are astronomical.
SPEAKER_00The price is like we're talking $800 a night for one room with one bed in space. Bananas.
SPEAKER_01So I am scouring the internet, every different booking hotels.com, all the sites. We're looking at Mal and I looking at points. We're looking at who we know. I'm looking at maybe we can get a room with just like a pullout couch and throw the girls on the I don't know. We're looking at all sorts of options.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So then I finally, the only thing I don't look at is Airbnb because that company has been dead to me for a long time. But I was like, you know what? Desperate times. So open up Airbnb. Desperate times. My models can be compromised. Morals will be compromised for this one guy. Yeah. So I open up Airbnb, and there's a little cluster of apartments in, you know, Harold Square, Koreatown, not the most glamorous area, but fine central to everything. They're somewhat in our price range, and they basically are like studio apartments with 15 beds in them.
SPEAKER_00There's 20 beds in there. There's a toilet in the middle of the floor. We're really just a hole in the middle of the floor. The metal sink. Yeah. I mean, it's basically like she found us a room at Rikers, is what happened.
unknownSo dramatic. So dramatic.
SPEAKER_01They were fine. They were in an industrial building. They this one had two queen beds and a bunk bed. So plenty for all of us sleep in. It had a closed-in bathroom, a little kitchen. They were not glamorous, but the reviews on Airbnb had hundreds of reviews, and it was like a 4.6. High fours, cleanliness, safety, just glowing, glowing, glowing reviews. Great, good, exceptional, exceptional. So according to Airbnb, this thing is a lock. Looking great. Send it to Mallory. Absolutely not her taste. Absolutely not her taste.
SPEAKER_00I text her off the group chain because I didn't want to embarrass her, but I was like, I can't stay here. I'm sorry. I can't do it. I was like, well, I can't afford to stay anywhere else. I don't glamp. I don't do any of that. Yeah, this is this is below glamping.
SPEAKER_01She was like, well, I'll throw it out, I'll throw it out to Catherine and see what she says, thinking that she's gonna side with you and she betrayed.
SPEAKER_00I know Judas over here is like, yeah, looks good. We just need to sleep. Which has never been my position about a hotel, especially in New York. Do you walk in all day? You want to come home to a nice place, relax. Anyways, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Anyways, and she was like, it kind of looks like a summer camp, summer camp dorm, summer camp cabin. I was like, Oh, that's so cute. Yeah, let's call it like summer camp New York cabin six, blah blah blah. So I'm like, all right, I'm gonna book it. I book it, I get the address, like after you book it, and I look it up, do my due diligence. I want to see exactly where it is, want to see the area, this, this, and that. And the the Google reviews are a little different. And so I browse through those. And one one thing, one thing really stands out, and I said, Ha, that can't be true. So then I Google and I find a New York Post article. So the the the the Airbnb building we were gonna stay in was called Nomad Suites Hotel in Bidtown, and it was accused of operating as a brothel.
SPEAKER_00Oh wow, that's why you need all the beds per room. Uh huh. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Still operating. Still operating under investigation. Oh my god. I'm gonna send Mallory this article so we can go through it together because there's uh there's some interesting stuff. So I see that, and I'm scrolling the article, and I'm like, oh no, oh no. New York City sues to shut it down.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01This is uh this is from January of this year. So only unsuspecting tourists wheeling their suitcases.
SPEAKER_00There's a picture of just but at night the tone shifts.
SPEAKER_01Wow. There's a picture of just like what would be us wheeling in our bags, unsuspecting tourists, unsuspecting tourists, and I'm like, ooh. Then there's another picture of them in the lobby, having no clue. And I'm like, well, you know, what do we even know? Would we would we could we even tell? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00The the This reminds me of like a scene out of like Law and Order SVU. Oh, it was a it was a homeless shelter in 2021 where a man was stabbed to death. That's great. Really nice stuff. Wow.
SPEAKER_01According to the complaint on September 4th, 2025, one officer entered suite 142 of the building, was offered a massage and manual stimulation for $100. That's not a bad deal.
SPEAKER_00I mean, at least it's a good price.
SPEAKER_01That's not a bad deal. A week later, another officer was directed to the suite where woman allegedly agreed to provide oral sex for $150 in addition to $100 for 30 minutes of a massage.
SPEAKER_00Again, I mean maybe we could just get the massage. It's sort of like a spa, you know, it's like a day spa.
SPEAKER_01That's what I thought. I said, what if I could have gotten us the massages without the handjobs for $30? Would that would that have enticed you?
SPEAKER_00I mean, maybe, you know. So yes, it's better than what I thought you were gonna say. I thought you were gonna say it was like a halfway house for pedophiles or something, which maybe it is is what I mean.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we're very far off. So I saw that and I was like, for a millisecond, I thought, you know what, we might be fine. They could probably, they would probably never know.
SPEAKER_00A North Carolina couple said they didn't see anything, but they did hear plenty. There's a lot of hootin' and hollering and drunk people that night. Hootin' and hollering. Oh dear God.
SPEAKER_01Well, I thought about it. But I didn't. I canceled it immediately. And then I'm going to go. I see so many people coming in and out. It's hard to keep track. So I had a text back within five minutes. I was quick. I was quick and said, you know what? I think we're gonna we're gonna redirect. I got another option.
SPEAKER_00I wondered what the quick change of heart was about. I was like, wow, she really slept on this and took into account my feelings now. Nope. Nope. You booked us in a brothel.
SPEAKER_01I did, I did. I booked us a brothel, but it was a really good price. It was a really good price. Yeah, I mean, yeah. I wow. Now I know why. So if it was just us, if our daughters were not gonna be there, you wouldn't have told us. I wouldn't have told you. We would have just cooked it. I would have just cooked it. Wow. What's the worst that would have happened? We would have seen some Korean hookers in the lobby.
SPEAKER_00Or somebody would have thought we were hookers and tried to get into our room. I mean, come on. Literally, and we stayed in the nicest Airbnb in Milan, and you still stacked all of our suitcases up against the door. I mean, my God, who are you right now? I don't even know you. You're like shoving all the shit under the door so no one can break in, putting all these weird lock things on the door, and yet you want to stand a brothel. Like your cheapness overrides your sense of security.
SPEAKER_01I would have still brought the extra locks. We would have been fine. And we would have saved, I could have, I could have blocked my ears from the hootin and hollering with the extra $500 we would have saved. Oh my god. That's what I would have.
unknownWow, wow.
SPEAKER_01So if our daughters were not involved, your ass would have been staying at a brothel. That's for damn sure. But I thought they will kill me if we get there and they figure it out. And our daughters are there. So I said yes, they will kill you. Yet I'm going to cancel, cancel Airbnb and find something else. So we found something else. It's fine. It's not a brothel. Our second option is definitely not a brothel. Hopefully. Did you Google that one? I did. You know what? I I did and I didn't because I said, you know what? We're kind of out of options. So this is what it is. Let go and let God. Let go and let God. At this point, just let it be its journey. What did you say about it?
SPEAKER_00Never let it do its own journey. Focus on your own journey. Focus on your journey. It's not our business. Nope. It's not my business anymore. Well, I do, I also have our country song for you if you're ready for it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_00It's inspired by, I think you're gonna have to do it because it doesn't work on it.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, okay. I'll do it on my, I'll do what I did last time. I'll do it on my okay. What is it?
SPEAKER_00It's inspired by I Know Him So Well. So it's basically the country version of this. Ooh, a different one. It's called, hold on, let me make sure I get the name right.
SPEAKER_01For those who didn't listen to our last episode, Mallory and I realized we both had a love for chess, the musical, and one of the songs from Chess the Musical.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Okay, this one's called Does He Love You by Reba McIntyre, featuring what is her name?
SPEAKER_01Reba and Dolly. Linda Davis. Oh. Reba and Linda Davis, okay. Oh wow. She's in a fancy purple getup. Oh picture of a man.
SPEAKER_02I know about you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it is like jazz. Yeah. Oh, this hair is so eighties. So good, right? Oh, this is phenomenal. Okay, Linda's the other woman. Got it. Oh my gosh! What a deep cut.
SPEAKER_02That's what the forest is.
SPEAKER_01Oh, three the haters. Oh, they hate each other. Wow. I've never heard this song. Oh, he looks nervous. Wow. What is that? Right?
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_02I really existed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a good one. Wow. Amazing.
SPEAKER_01Is that not? That's the country version of. Sorry, we were uh briefly interrupted by my husband, and then we had to show him something offline and get his reaction from it. We got this. No. Now we're back. Now we're back. Now we're back. We're back. I I did not know that song existed. Amazing.
SPEAKER_00It is the country version of the city. It literally is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It is. It's the whole premise. Amazing. Chess must have been big in the 80s. I mean, we were mere, you know, tadpoles. We don't know. We were names. Oh my gosh, the funniest. So I have like pictures on our we have Amazon Fire Sticks. So I have like a bunch of like home pictures and old pictures that go on our TVs and blah blah blah.
